Fielding writes mysteries that are usually focused more on the female audience than the other authors I read, but she keeps grabbing me. Why? Well, even though there's a lot of time spent on relationships, she makes them interesting and quirky, and keeps most of the sappiness out. She's had some great twists in her books. Although many are "woman in distress", they often do not play out to formula. My favorite was the one where the narrator spent the whole book describing how she believed her boarder was a murderer, and the murderer turned out to be ..... the narrator!
