This is the first time I've read Camus, admittedly because I was always somewhat intimidated by the notion. I was expecting something weighty and dense, and instead found him to be an engaging and extremely concise writer. The stories flow smoothly, and rather than belabor the topic of existential angst directly, Camus focuses solely on the actions that play out within the narrative, leaving the reader to consider the deeper motivations and feelings of his characters. My only regret with Exile is that the stories weren't long enough! I'm looking forward to reading one of his novels, and watching how his characters develop on a more extended timeline.
I gobbled up all of these books when I was in my horse phase.
