Seventeen-year-old Bella Swan moves from Phoenix with her mom to cold, wet Forks, Washington with her father. There she finds herself drawn to handsome, mysterious Edward Cullen, who sometimes acts like he wants to be with her and sometimes acts like he wants nothing to do with her. She discovers that he's a vampire, and she decides she doesn't care. Edward and his family, who are also vampires, don't hunt humans. Edward takes Bella to meet his family, when a different clan of vampires comes, and one of them wants Bella's blood. James, the other vampire, hunts her, and the Edward's clan tries to keep her safe. Twilight, although quite purple at times, is a really fun read. The characters are easy to connect to, and it's written in a style that allows teenagers to feel what Bella's feeling and really understand what she's going through. I especially enjoyed reading the Cullens, Edward's clan, who have striking personalities and seem like interesting people. I loved Twilight, and I recommend it, especially to teenage girls.
