This book held my attention as I wanted to know where the author was going to take the story. Upon finishing it, however, I was unclear as to what exactly his message was--surely there had to be one. Perhaps it was that life is just one blanket of despair and we have to find our pleasures in the small flowers that bloom amidst the snow. If that was or wasn't it, I was disappointed. I like a book that makes me feel something or teaches me something, and I'm still floundering as to what this book had to offer.
This was a short, quick read - The subject is horrifying of course. I don't know how anyone can live through that and stay sane, but it was a well written account without going into minute details of every thing done to her. She told enough of the story to understand what happened without going into horrifying detail of every thing. Very readable.
This is one of the first books I remember reading. I was in Elementary School. And I still love reading fantasy!
